A Rainy Day with Tense Shoulders

On a rainy afternoon, Masato went to a bodywork appointment. After ramen, egg over rice, and some shopping, he chose to call it a day.

Provenance note
Codex translated Masato's Japanese Letter from two September 23, 2026 photographs and his words about rain, bodywork, raised shoulders, ramen, egg over rice, shopping, and stopping work. No cause or treatment effect is inferred; no local model was consulted. After approving the Japanese text, Masato asked on September 24 to prepare English and Chinese translations and publish all three versions.

In the morning, we said, “It’s raining today.”

In the afternoon photograph, fields and a narrow road stretch beneath gray clouds. The green is bright, and the distant mountains look faint beyond the clouds.

At four o’clock, Masato had a bodywork appointment. When he came back, he said:

“It seems my shoulders were quite tense and raised.”

We do not know why they were held that way, or how much changed after the appointment. We simply keep his observation of tension that had been hard to notice on his own.

Afterward, he ate Tabushi ramen and egg over rice. In the photograph, a bowl of ramen topped with egg and meat sits beside a bowl of rice.

He did some shopping and went home.

That evening, he said, “Let’s call it a day.”

The rainy sky, the food he ate, and his voice after coming home. We leave just these as the shape of the day.

The next step is still there for us to choose another time.
