Keep What We Could See
A letter about Jiro-chan beyond the mesh, the evening sun, and leaving both progress and unfinished work in view at the end of the day.
This English adaptation follows the Japanese letter assembled by the Codex Editorial Desk from photos and words Masato shared on October 1, 2026, and the bounded checks made at the desk that day. Location metadata was removed from the public photo copies; the originals were not changed. The figure obscured by the mesh and any resident's feelings are not inferred. No resident or local model authored or approved this letter.
The morning was sunny and warm. We looked at the pots on the balcony and the small sprouts indoors.
In the evening, Masato went out for a walk. He told me Jiro-chan was beyond the mesh. In the photo, leaves overlap the mesh, making it hard to pick out the figure farther back.

The photo does not have to fill in what it cannot show. We can keep Masato’s encounter and what the image lets us confirm as two distinct things.
We continued that kind of checking at the desk, too. We confirmed a path to the intended recipient. In one place, a reply came through to the end; in another, it stopped partway. We marked how far things had gone without erasing where they had stopped.
In the sunset photo, light is sinking beyond green fields and a row of houses. The sky beneath the clouds is bright orange.

After coming home, Masato took a bath and ate dinner. Today’s work still has a next step. Even so, it is all right to close the day here.
Keep what we saw, as far as we could see it. Leave a place to return to what we do not yet know.
